Large restored antique Victorian cast iron fireplace insert in the Arts and Crafts manner. Its flat, bold, symmetrical structure features square chequered designs to the sides and frieze, with circular rosette-like decoration to the top corners. The generous fire opening is bordered by pierced corner brackets in the Chippendale Chinese style. English. Circa 1880.
Fully restored and finished in traditional black grate polish. Complete with a new clay fireback and cast iron bottom grate.
