A large and complex Victorian fireplace surround in bold rouge marble with Belgian black marble detail. The jambs and frieze benefit from fluted panels. To the centre of the frieze is a large turned Belgian black marble boss. Substantial corbels support the twin-layered mantle. Circa 1890.
