Antique Victorian Marbelised Slate Fireplace with Corbels

An original Victorian fireplace with well-carved corbels, the piece has been made from black slate and offers an impressive surround with ornate gold decoration to the lintel and jambs.The black slate has been expertly painted to give a marbelised effect; a technique frequently seen throughout the Victorian period.
