Set of 10 cast iron columns from Habsburg Empire
€ 50,000 the set inc tax
Manufactured in 1890 by the renowned steel construction company Waagner-Biro.
They were the pillars at the front of the former Salzburg railway station in what was then the Habsburg Empire.
The special feature of the ensemble is its completeness and the large number of columns, so that larger projects can also be realised with it.
By the way, for comparison, a corresponding casting, new and without historical significance, would demonstrably cost around €15,000 per column.
The condition is very good for its age, as can be seen from the pictures.
The columns have the historicist structure typical of the turn of the century: an octagonal base on a square base plate, above which a transition
of angular and round bands to the fluted shaft with a diameter of approx. 22 cm.
diameter. Above this is a composite capital.
The columns are hollow on the inside so that a statically steel tube could be inserted if necessary.
The columns can be viewed digitally or in person at any time.
