Balterley Shell MK2 close coupled toilet in any colour
Photographed here is a discontinued toilet manufactured by Balterley Bathrooms that was available during the late 1980s and early 1990s and is part of the Balterley Shell bathroom suite.
Shown here is the Balterley Shell MK2 close coupled toilet in whisper grey dating from the 1990s.
The Balterley Shell MK2 close coupled toilet was introduced in the second half of 1987 to replace the earlier MK1 Carina Shell version which used a larger width of cistern and a more curved pan which was introduced in the early 80s with the final production continuing till 1987 before it was phased out and discontinued for the MK2 version as shown here.
The MK2 close coupled toilet as shown was manufactured from 1987 till around 1994 before the Balterley Shell bathroom suite was discontinued and as a result this suite is no longer manufactured.
The Balterley Shell bathroom suite was available in multiple colours and styles.
White (available with multiple floral styles such as Bouquet floral decals or Guilded gold line)
Champagne (available with Satsuma floral decals or Guilded gold line)
Whisper Grey (available with Satsuma floral decals or Guilded gold line)
Whisper Pink (available Satsuma floral decals)
Whisper Cream (plain only)
Whisper Peach (plain only)
I take in this bathroom suite to restore and resell as these are so rare to come across as these are no longer manufactured, so if you have one and wish to get rid of it, feel free to message me regards to collection dates and price for the suite and I will let you know when I am available.
To identify the brand, it's usually in the corner of the cistern lid and the corner of the washbasin, however underneath the cistern lid will have Balterley Bathrooms Shell England under the lid.
Sometimes there are date stamps under the lid, whilst there is usually a date stamp in the cistern and underneath the toilet pan and can be found once removed from situ.
