A Rare Reclaimed York Stone 112LB Or 8 Stone Weight Tethering Block

You are viewing a rare reclaimed York Stone weight with a cast iron hanging hoop that has been reclaimed from a local property.

As can be seen in the photos the numbers 112 are carved on the top of the weight. This refers to the weight being 112 lbs, which is 8 stone or in metric just under 51kg. This is also what is referred to as an imperial hundred weight.

The weight is in great solid condition and can be suspended from the hanging loop and stands just under 12 inches tall.

We are unsure of the exact original purpose of the weight but it was most probably a counter weight of some sort.

Altogether a lovely and rare piece of industrial heritage.
