Powys, UK
Powys based, West Wales Reclamation Yard has survived recent trading challenges over the past few years, including the roadworks building of the Dyfi Bridge, only to discover now that their lease will not be renewed. So after years on the same site at Heol Y Doll, Machynlleth, they are now faced with looking for new premises.

Powys County Times reported the owners had hoped that footfall would increase again with the end of the roadworks and the new bridge opening, so the news had come as a 'massive blow', and they now had no option but to leave.

West Wales Reclamation sells architectural salvage and reclaimed traditional building materials. Their yard and emporium offer an eclectic range of building materials and interior pieces, such as antique and vintage furniture, fireplaces and sanitary ware.

However, the current uncertainty means they cannot restock as they normally would, especially as they may even be forced to close entirely if they cannot find a new site in time.

In the article, the owners commented that many Welsh reclamation yards have closed down over the past decade, with local communities losing valuable resources for reclaimed materials. Sadly this also applies to other parts of the UK too.

They have just one year left on the lease to find another site and are looking to rent or purchase a new site. Please let them know if you can help.
