Since November 2016, Country Life has introduced a new interior design section. The weekly magazine has of course been showcasing country interiors both new and old for at least a hundred years or more. They had already added a monthly interiors feature which had been well received by its readers. So the decision was made to introduce a weekly interior design section.

Each week an interior designer is featured with a room from one of their inspirational design projects. In the first one you could glimpse into one of the most elegant drawing rooms in London, in a Victorian building that overlooks Buckingham Palace. This was an interior design project from Rose Uniacke, one of the London's top one hundred designers. Also known for her design work for celebrities, such as the Beckhams, in their Holland Park villa. This week featured interior designer, Louise Jones and her design for a dressing room in a Georgian house in Wiltshire.

Giles Kime is the new Country Life interiors editor, a former Editor of Decanter magazine and author of three books; Decorating, Decorate To Speculate and Secrets Of Wine. Each week he also provides readers with an informative insider view on the latest interiors tips and news. These have ranged from four poster beds to secondary kitchens. Design dilemmas such a should you opt for a boiling water tap to should you reclaim the formal dining room. He also inspires with images, such as the beauty of a mirror above a fireplace dressed with fresh Christmas foliage.

There has been a mention too for top designer Ben Pentreath and his interiors range, who this year published his new book English Houses. The book was reviewed in a previous issue of SalvoNEWS, see the link below . The interior images of timeless comfort were photographed by Jan Baldwin and it was published by Ryland, Peters and Small. This is one of the books, team Salvo would recommend for a fab Christmas gift, especially for those who love interiors with a unique personal element. The book fits well with the Country Life interiors section which shows images with a mix of old and new, from antiques and unique reclaimed finds to modern high end design pieces.

Country Life editor, Mark Hedges hopes that these new interiors pages will reaffirm the magazine's claim to 'report on the best of British life'. We will watch this space and not miss out on the latest design inspiration for country or town dwellers alike in the next issue of Country Life magazine, out on Wednesdays. To subscribe see the link below.
