Bonnie McCarthy recently reported in the Los Angeles Times that Big Daddy's has redefined antiques as cool. The mix of old unique pieces, custom reclaimed, repurposed and quality reproduction appeals to a young professional clientele and celebrities like Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and Taylor Swift. The warehouse showroom itself can be used as an event venue and had even appeared on television shows like 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians'. In fact owners, Kristine and Shane Brown find some customers say the showroom is so gorgeous they actually want to live there.

Shane realised he had a natural gift for picking cool old pieces in the 1990s, when after breaking up with his then girlfriend he had to sell the secondhand finds he had used to decorate her apartment with and became hooked. So the Big Daddy story began and Shane went on to create the retail experience that young people love so much today. The Los Angeles HQ was followed by a showrom in San Francisco and the smaller boutique stores of Georgia Brown Home in Aspen and Houston.
