Arthur Swallow's second Ripley show is on this weekend and it's strapline is 'An eye for style and a concern for the environment?' Here is more:
Ripley Castle is the place to be for the upcoming Home Restoration & Salvage Show 18-19 May. With large displays of reclaimed objects, statuary upcycled furniture and innovative products, it's the occasion to find real treasure imbued with history and character.

Exhibitors of architectural salvage, period fixtures and fittings, decorative furnishings and specialists in the restoration of period properties will be at the Ripley event.

From kitchen units to large industrial style tables, Fulbeck Woods are planning a show stopping stand for visitors. The showcase will include a new range of furniture that looks identical to large cast iron machine bases - but with a twist - they're all made from old metalwork, roof beams and waste wood (where possible).

Around 60 exhibitors will be pitching up including In-Situ Architectural Salvage, Search & Rescue, Lighthouse Emporium, De Zonneroos Antique Stained Glass, Coach House Antiques all of which will be exhibiting at Salvo Fair 2013 at Knebworth. Others at Ripley exclusively are Burgundy Brocante, Abacus Fireplaces & Salvage, Crowtrees Antiques, Southport Architectural Salvage and Ragamuffins Reclaim.
After Stubbings last year Lady McAlpine extended an invitation to the salvage trade to join in so we tried, unsuccessfully as it turned out, to organise an architectural salvage enclave at Fawley Steam and Vintage Fair next weekend.

As far as we know Fred Nixon, a dealer in antique post boxes, will be going - but there are quite a few other promising possibilities. Fawley's website has more:
Planes: a Spitfire, a Hurricane, a Red Arrows Plane - in the air. Possibly a Spitfire and a Hurricane on the ground. Parachute regiment's display team, dropping in on Sunday. Camel racing. A lot of Traction Engines but we would love more. Steam Rollers. Portables.

Miniatures. Models - several layouts in addition to the one in our Musuem. Modellers showing you how to do it. Stationary Engines. Tractors and other Agricultural machinery. Steam Bus. Vintage Buses and Commercial Vehicles. Veteran and Vintage cars - and possibly a few younger cars. A transporter-load of Ecurie Ecosse cars: A Brabham Racing Car: a Maclaren? Veteran and Vintage Motor Bikes - and some more modern but interesting bikes.

Ancient lawn mowers and possibly some ancient gardeners? Boats: steam of course, but also just some very beautiful old boats to stroke (all on trailers I'm afraid). Radio Controlled boats on the lake. A huge display of old Military vehicles. A few visiting Steam Locos - to run on our mile of standard gauge track or just in the yard. A 5″ gauge track with locos you can drive. Old fire engines (whose owners have offered to keep steam engines watered for the weekend).

Art Enclave with David Shepherd, Vicky Palmer, Alan Wilson, Paul Atterbury, Boris who was in Sloane Square will be here with London Zoo - and of course Winnie the Pooh! (a statue of) and the full story. Marcus Lovett: the current Phantom of the Opera will sing for us on Sunday. 100 Ukeleles: The International Ukelele Orchestra of Sonning Common. The Wycombe Orpheus Male Voice Choir. Henley Youth Jazz Band may not make it - because of exams. Steel Band. Some very good local groups including: Annie and the Doughboys, The (more than) Average Wife Band, Out of Order several exceptional singers (Marcus Lovett, Megan Henwood and Talullah Rendall.. ) other names when absolutely confirmed. Trade stands so far seem to be mostly railway related… so more variety required please. Really Good Food! Home-made cider and local beer and wine.
