Pont Briwet, near Penrhyndeudraeth, a listed bridge that carries rail and road traffic will be demolished.

Snowdonia National Park Authority approved the plans to replace the wooden viaduct, which was built in 1867. Parts of it were re-built in 1932. It will be replaced with a new concrete bridge that is ten metres wider. The new bridge will be a rail and road crossing and also have a cycle path.
