Since 2008 SalvoWEB has shown UK GoogleMaps of architectural salvage dealers, Salvo Code dealers, and other useful addresses, listed online in the Salvo Directory.
 
The maps can be seen by clicking on 'View On A Map' links at the top of any county directory list (see links below). To find your county click on the 'County Panel' on the right hand side of the 'Salvo Architectural Salvage Directory: UK Counties' web page (see link below).
 
This shows all local salvage yards to that county and surrounding region. To see a map of the whole UK (like the one illustrated above) simply zoom out using GoogleMaps minus sign on the left hand side of the map.
 
Each entry on the map can be seen by clicking the graphic which shows a speech bubble with the name, address, phone number ands brief details of the business. Clicking the link in the text bubble takes you to the full listing.
 
In February 2012 the UK directory had 31,151 views - 86% by UK visitors, 5% USA, followed by Ireland, Canada, Australia, France and Germany. Operating systems were 68% Windows, 17% Mac, 12% iPad and iPhone, and 2% Android.
 
The top ten most popular counties visited on Salvo Directory last month were West Midlands, Surrey, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Hertfordshire, Tyne & Wear, Buckinghamshire, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
 
SalvoWEB was started in 1995, and the UK Salvo Directory has been online ever since. The directory has been copied by many websites including Yellow Pages at yell in the early days. Salvo has never tried to protect its directory information by copyright enforcement, although it could quite easily, because Salvo's policy is that all publicity in all media is good for the trade.
 
SalvoWEB also has architectural salvage directories of many other countries in France, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, USA, Australia, Canada and another 40 countries. The lists are never up to date, so please check by phoning before visiting any business listed. We are also grateful to receive updated details about businesses from SalvoWEB readers.
