WALCOT Architectural Salvage Ltd was set up in May 2010 by Dave Janes and Cary Morgan of the old Walcot Depot, and James McEnerney of the old Walcot Yard, after the demise of Walcot Reclamation Ltd in November 2009 and its final auction sale in February 2010. Walcot Architectural Salvage Ltd aims to become a local, regional and national supplier of reclaimed building material and architectural salvage.

Dave, Cary and James took over some of Walcot Rec's old premises at The Old Timber Yard, an old railway sidings in Bathampton to the east of Bath, which is where the old Walcot Depot of heavy reclaimed materials relocated when its city centre premises was bought for redevelopment as a (since abandoned) engineering university by vacuum cleaner tycoon James Dyson. The old Walcot Depot is still vacant.

Within the last three months stocks such as reclaimed roofing and flagstones have been gradually built up. One of their biggest sales to date was for 100 tonnes of Bath stone rubble walling for a development at nearby Castle Combe. Naturally, many of Walcot Rec's builder clients are now using Walcot Architectural Salvage to source and supply reclaimed materials. In stock there is a range of antique iron windows, gates and railings as well as a carved and decorative possibly Lapine, mid-19th century possibly French, buff stone pulpit, which James said could make an interesting outdoor feature or even an indoor bar.

While the business warmly welcomes clients old and new to its new incarnation, Dave Janes said that the three of them, who had all been at Walcot Reclamation from the early days, would like to wish Rick and Jane Knapp, former Walcot Reclamation owners, the best of luck for the future, and they also look forward to the possibility of working alongside Steve Tomlin of the newly formed Masco Walcot at some point too.
