Saxon Durrant from Metro Retro, who also exhibits at Salvo Fair, will bring a an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and decorative props. Saxon will also be selling furniture recently salvaged from Haggerston School, East London. Saxon explains 'The furniture is top quality plan chests, multi drawer units and cupboards by Meredew Furniture. They are all dated 1965 and chosen by Erno Goldfinger himself for Haggerston school. The photo shows everything 'as found' stacked in the warehouse. I am taking just a few cleaned up items to Dulwich on Sunday as I already have lots of fresh stock for the stand. Lots of the rest will be at the Midcentury Show at Haggerston in May.'

The main building at this show, Christison Hall, is named after McCollugh Christison, Secretary of the Alleyn Club from 1906 till 1967, and long time College and Estate Governor. The building was designed by architects Manfred Bresgens and Malcolm Pringle of Austin Vernon & Partners between 1965 & 69. It is a fine example of the uniquely British architectural Brutalism movement of the 1950s and 60s.

The light and bright building with its floor to ceiling windows, concrete buttresses and acoustic wall for anything from an original Cherner chair to a contemporary piece from a hot young British designer.
