Wiltshire, UK - Hanging up his ballcocks after fifty years of trading in discontinued sanitaryware, Ray Simmonds, proprietor of Sanitary Salvage in Wiltshire, is offering a unique opportunity to acquire a vast collection of sanitaryware from the 60's through to the present day for the bargain price of £25,000.

"When we say vast, it's huge and includes more than ten thousand items, both new and secondhand, comprising baths, toilets, basins, cisterns, bidets and toilet seats - in every obsolete colour you can think of, including white and cream,” Ray Simmonds told Salvo.

"We prefer not to show colour charts on our website, which at best give a vague idea of the shade and are frequently inaccurate. With over 90 colours available and many shades of White, plus twin-toned and floral designs, it can be very confusing. We use a much simpler and more effective method: a customer phones or emails and describes the broken or missing item and we then identify the make and the correct colour. We then provide an exact replacement or suggest an alternative which would be compatible. Our stock includes the more unusual and sought-after styles, from retro to classic designs from the UK, as well as France, Spain and Italy."

What you will get: all the stock, all the racking, the trading name, the website, goodwill, after sale assistance.

What you will need: a large area (4,000sqft 15ft high) under cover, four keen people to help move the stock, several lorry loads or container loads. Knowledge of the sanitaryware trade would be helpful.

“Realistically-speaking there is probably over £500,000 of value in the stock. The asking price reflects the difficulty in the removal, but is incredible value at £25,000,” Mr. Simmonds said. “It’s an amazing investment, you will get your money back easily within a year, then it will keep on giving as it has for me, for many years to come. The reason for sale is that I am retiring and my land is due to be sold. If you require any further information please give me a call. (No dreamers please)”
