London South West, UK - That home of all things garden, Chelsea Flower Show 22 - 26 May, will see long time stalwart Architectural Heritage once again have a stand, and a number of other salvage yards contributing to the affair.

Nadine Charlton's Walledgarden is collaborating with multi-award winning designer, Chelsea Gold medallist and landscape architect, Sarah Eberle, for a bespoke playhouse - the Chelsea Townhouse.

Walledgarden is offering the chance to win a beautiful playhouse potting shed worth £5,000. Complete the entry form when purchasing a packet of edible wildflower seeds.
Details of the competition are available on its website [link below]. Supplier of the reclaimed timber cladding was Ace Reclamation.

The Chelsea townhouse suppliers include Romsey Reclamation (front door and roofing slates), English Salvage for decorative ironwork and Salisbury Demolition for timber and architectural mouldings. Other projects have included materials from LASSCO.

Norfolk-based Mongers Architectural Salvage, teaming up with Thorncroft Clematis of Reymerston, will be creating a display based on the historic Norwich manufacturers Boulton and Paul featuring 50 varieties and over 600 clematis plants.

Sam Coster of Mongers said: “It is a perfect marriage, architectural salvage and climbing plants. The colour and beauty of the clematis is very much enhanced against fine antique wrought iron work. Boulton & Paul made many items for gardens and, being a local firm, seemed a perfect backdrop to our local nurseries plants.”

Thorncroft Clematis, who are already have 10 gold medals at Chelsea will display their Clematis trained up interesting structures such as a Victorian dog run, water bowsers, gates and railings all sourced from Mongers extensive stock of fine garden antiques and made by Boulton & Paul. They will have a number of new varieties to unveil at the show including a stunning new bell-shaped clematis Prince William ‘Zo08171’PBR which will be the centre piece of the plant feature called “A Royal Celebration” a collection of clematis with connections to royalty.

Peter Skeggs-Gooch from Thorncroft added "Following the stunning display we created together at the very first RHS Chatsworth Flower Show will be hard enough, but we have also chosen to really push ourselves with a demanding and hopefully inspirational exhibit for Chelsea this year. We are delighted to be working with Mongers again because Sam & Louise have proven to be very creative and have put in a huge amount of effort while helping us achieve the standard of finish we will require for another Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal."

Some antique dealers will be at the show with a variety of old garden-related objects including salvaged garden tools.

May 22nd update: the medal winners have now been announced and our congratulations to:

The Yorkshire Show Garden Gold winner and Abacus Stone Sales for supplying their reclaimed York stone and flags.

Thorncroft Clematis Great Pavillion Gold winner and Mongers who supplied garden antiques with a Boulton & Paul garden house.
