 FOR SALE : SASH WINDOWS CIRCA 1860 SINGLE GLAZED FROM COUNTRY HALL/HOUSE Box Sash Window Single Glazed removed from Country House/ Hall in North Wales
We have over 20 single glazed sash windows which have been removed from a Country House/ Hall in Ruthin, North Wales. Ruthin is approximately 30 minutes drive from Chester.
The house was built circa 1850 and has a limestone façade. The windows were all in good working order before removal, having sash cords and cast iron weights. Some windows frames were in good condition and others were in need of remedial work to the frames.
It is thought that the windows are the originals and many of them have the original glazing which we think appears to be early float glass. The frames are made from pitch pine and the glazing bars are beautifully shaped and slim approximately 7/8th inch wide by 1 ½ inches deep .
These windows would ideally suit a listed building or a renovation project where the need for authentic restoration is required. Some of the windows have been surrounded by classical paneling and paneled shutters.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire rarely available original windows from circa 1850 from a genuine family seller.
The windows are available for viewing at a mutually agreeable time.
The windows are very heavy and need two people to lift.

 FOR SALE : STAINED GLASS ANTIQUE SASH WINDOWS CIRCA 1900 We have 2 beautiful stained glass sash windows for sale. They have come out of a bathroom that was built in 1900. In the centre of the bottom sections are pictures of 2 birds (finches I think). They have faded with time but are still very beautiful. The top section is made up of coloured squares in a Gothic style. There are cracks in 2 of the glass squares but they are intact and have been there for a long time.
The windowsill on one of the windows has completely gone and would need replacing. The windows are old and would need a good clean. Other parts of the frame may need a little attention but overall they look quite tidy.

 FOR SALE : EARLY 20TH CENTURY LEADED LIGHT CHAPEL WINDOWS These windows were removed from a Methodist chapel in County Durham with full planning consent. The collection comprises six full window frames of good quality pitched pine in a range of sizes. 4 of the frames are 2.14m wide x 2.45m high with three large panes to the lower parts and six smaller arched panes above. The other two frames are narrower with just two panes width and four arched lights above. These are 1.46m wide x 2.45m high and 1.46m wide x 2.11m high. The glass is in a range of colours mainly greens, yellow, red and orange and each pane features a metal hopper light opening. The designs are not religious and are typical of the early part of the 20th century which would tie in with the date of the chapel. In addition there are a selection of glass quarries for repairs as required, two circular windows in frames and some part restored panes ready to refit to the timber framework.
