This is an origonal victorian royal mail postbox, circa 1890's that had been refurbished and repainted in black, with gold detailing to the letters and red on the crest. Manufactured by W.T.Allen + Co. London.
Distinguishing marks include evidence of a 2" approx hole drilled in the back (for removal of the lock), the removed section being siliconed back in place, A hole in the bottom where it was bolted down and evidence of 'touching up' with white paintwork to the enamel section after sandblasting.

STOLEN : L GALLANDT MARBLE STATUE AND GARDEN URN Stolen Place : Lisburn area of Northern Ireland Stolen Date : 5 Nov 2007 1 white marble statue by L Gallandt named ROMA. This is approx 5ft in height and weighs approx 1/2 tonne. The figure depicts a young lady with a wresth of flowers on her head. Her right foot is in front of the left and both arms are outstretched. This staue is worth approximately £30,000.
2 large cast iron urns had been taken from the rear of a house. These are approx 3ft in height and are quite decorative with figures depcited around the main body of the urn. Each one of these urns is worth approx £3,000.
Another pair of urns have also been found to be missing. These are worth approx £3,000 each also, but are less decorative than the other pair.
All items were stolen during the course of a burglary at a private dwelling in the Lisburn area of Northern Ireland between the 5th and 6th November 2007. No pictures are available at present.

The items taken were of a very distinctive nature, and would be immediately recognisable from the images supplied. The burglars were very selective in what they took. The majority of the items taken were brass and silverware but they also took art, ceramics and items of kitchenalia.
