 FOR SALE : 18TH CENTURY OAK BOX SETTLE An attractive circa 1750 small oak box settle. Featuring out swept side arms supported by turned columns, this item has a convenient lift up seat, and as the photographs show, it has been carved with an earlier date. We do not believe that it is William & Mary. As you can see by the photographs, this item is quite faded in colour, but this could easily be rectified by using some dark wax, and a good polish. This is an extremely small and rare piece of furniture due to its size. The item is in good condition with no loose joints, and we believe that it is still fitted with the original hinges. A good, sturdy piece of furniture for any period property.

Comprising of a large out swept cornice, this piece features central cupboard doors, which are situated above four graduated drawers. These are flanked by two arched doors which open up to reveal a full length hanging space sitting upon a pedestal base. The item is in overall good condition for a piece of this age, but as you can appreciate, it has had some knocks and bangs during its lifetime. There are also some small pieces of veneer missing and general wear and tear. It is a very practical piece of furniture due to its height, and with its central cupboard, it could easily be used to store a small television.
