 STOLEN : PAIR WOODEN GATES
Stolen from Stroud, Glourcestershire UK before 12 November 2007
A pair of tropical hardwood gates (iroko) have been stolen. The gates are in very good condition, silvery due to a small amount of weathering. They rise in the central part (ie where the 2 gates meet.
Measurements (approximate as don't have original design drawings to help): Height approx 6ft 4ins at lowest (gate post) side, rising to approx 7ft 2ins at central point. Each gate is approx 3ft 2ins wide and they were hung on brackets 62ins apart. (photo is of a single gate made to same design)
Hinge details: Hinges as shown in the photo. The gates lift off a pin. So the hinges all went with the gate (2 per gate). The length of each black metal hinge is 24 inches, the width 6cm. There would be 4 screw holes on each hinge, each approx 17cm apart. However, the one closest to the gate post is more of a domed metal head that holds the 2 bits of metal together. The height of the 'cylinder part' that goes over the pin is also 6 cm, and they have been made to go over a pin that is 1.5cm in diameter. There was also a bolt on the gates.
NOTE: The photos show a remaining single gate which was identical in manufacture but a different size to the stolen pair.
Any info please contact Gloucestershire Police at Stroud Police Station on tel 0845 090 1234.
