The slate dial is 14" square
Richard Melvin at this time was working mainly in Glasgow

It is rare to find the dial with it's original plinth
This was discovered locally in the South Midlands
The sundial measures a total of 50" tall
The base is 24" square and the top is 16" square

FOR SALE : HUGHES & BOLCKOW GARDEN TABLE AND CHAIRS Hughes & Bolckow teak garden table and chairs.
In need of much tlc. The set is made of teak taken fron the SS Asturias.
There is a small plate on one of the table supports with the legend Hughes and Bolckow Blyth, teak from the SS Asturias.
I do believe that the ship was last in use as an emigration ship to Oz in the mid fifties.
The table is square the chairs fit neatly to each corner of the table.
A small amount of wood is missing/broken - underchair struts... considering it as been left out in all weathers for the past 5/ years it is still sound with no rot or woodworm. Price : 300
