 FOR SALE : VICTORIAN GRAMAPHONE CABINET, EXCELLENT CONDITION
Vintage two door (believed oak) lift lid gramaphone cabinet.
It has two doors with round wooden turned handles,which appear to be the original ones, and four brass hinges.
The top lifts up, to reveal a useful storage area where a gramaphone used to be.
The unit does have a good patina, but also some ring marks on the top.
This contributes to the cupboards aged charm.
There two small sections of trim missing, normal wear commensurate with its age.
It has a replacement back panel and base.
Please note the dovetail joints to the corners of the lid.
The cupboard has four shaped feet.
Measurements:
Height 83.5cm
Width 62 cm
Depth 47.5 cm
The compartment on top is 8cm deep plus 5cm deep edge round the top,so when closed it is 13 cm deep.15 cm high legs.

 FOR SALE : 4 X BEAUTIFUL SOLID OAK CHAIRS
A lovely set of 4 Identical Vintage Oak Edwardian / Georgian Chairs.
Made in the early 1900's pre war when quality craftsmanship meant something, these are fine examples.
The joints are still tight and secure after all these years, a tribute to the build quality.
The top crossbar is gently shaped at the top and has vertical lined carvings deep into the solid oak.
The ladderback design on the back is strong and well intact.
The seats are drop-in design.
The seats are currently finished in a green fabric, you can easily reupholster these.
The oak frame is secure around the seat and all of the legs and uprights.
The chairs do not wobble.
The stretchers between the legs have helped make these some of the strongest designed chairs around.
An exceptional set.
Condition is good for the age of these chairs but obviously not perfect.
There are bumps and bruises consistent with age and use.
The joints are tight and there is no worm, rot or significant damage.
If you are expecting perfect chairs please exit now and head straight for Ikea.
The rest of us that appreciate fine vintage furniture can now bid and win some of the nicest older chairs around.

Although telephone seats are quite common, its not often that you see one with a solid base section on it with doors, they are usually open with legs...
Carved fronts and back with an unusual detail on top of the back.
Cupboard opens and there is a pullout shelf with whited board.
Fabric has no rips or tears.
I know its not very old but it is unusual...there is a stapled note on the back showing it being sold at Fagins Antiques for £220, I believe this was about 15 years ago.
