Well constructed of beech & elm, the chairs tell the story of over 100 years of the life and times of an honest, working, knock about piece of furniture. In original condition, having been given only a light wax, there is a heavy level of mellowed distressing throughout with a varying dark to light colour. Patination and charm.

It is a 'museum type' display case for a more permanent fixture as it is only accessable via the side panels being removed.
It is a solid wood 'refrectory table' type base on heavy turned legs.
Both glazed ends can be removed and you can slide the interior display out.
It then has an 'inner shelf display' of 2 shelves.
Dimensions are as follows:
overall length is 6' x 33" wide (182 cm x 84 cm)
Table top height is 31" / 78 cm
Glazed unit is 45" high (114 cm) x 27 " w x 5'6" l (68.5cm x 167cm long)
The interior shelf is 2 covered fabric shelves: lower shelf: 1' high x 15" wide (30cm x 38cm) upper shelf is 2' high x 7" wide (61cm x 18cm)
These are extremely heavy in weight and would be at least a 2 man lift - you will need to bear that in mind for collection.

OAK ARTS AND CRAFTS DRESSER Extremely sought after and collectable, Liberty & Co. oak Arts and Crafts dresser, possibly by Shapland and Petter, the renowned furniture craftsmen who produced a wide range of furniture at thier Raleigh works in Barnstaple, Devon. This is typical of thier designs with well balanced proportions and great craftsmanship. The heart shaped design is also found on the hammered out brass work of the handles that have stamped on the reverse L & C.
