FOR SALE : ART NOUVEAU FIREPLACE

Exceptional Art Nouveau fire surround by Raoul Mabru, featuring a magnificent carving of the head of a female, as its centrepiece, with delicately carved flowers to the jambs. Crisp white in colour. This is an original and rare work by the sculptor Raoul Mabru and architect E. Pelisse c1908.

Raoul Mabru, 1882-1957, was a belle époque sculptor with an atelier in Royat who undertook municipal, religious and state commissions including war memorials. By 1952 he was director of the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Clermont-Ferrand.
