 FOR SALE : ANTIQUE BOCH FRERES CERAMIC TILES C.1900
10 m2+ / 108 sq ft of antique ceramic encaustic French tiles dated 1900 and produced by the respective ceramic house of Boch Freres of Maubege. Both the field and border tiles are 17cm square, 2cm thick and tessellate to produce a pure and subtle geometric design in autumnal colours of coffee and cream with a lifted scroll border which also has burnt red present. There are c.153 each of the main field tiles and 44 of the border tiles, totalling 8.2 linear metres. There are no corner tiles for the border but these can be mitre cut from off cuts present.
The tiles have been cleaned of old mortar to the back and sides and are ready for re-laying. Being ceramic tiles they are suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

 FOR SALE : DELICATE ANTIQUE FRENCH CERAMIC FLOOR TILES C.1900
An antique Art Nouveau ceramic encaustic floor with triple border, totalling 24m2 (258sq ft) and dated c.1900. The field tiles and principal border tiles are in a buff and cream, with vieux rose, burgundy and green also present. The field and large border tile are 14cm sq (5 ½ inches), with the smaller borders 14cm long x 7cm wide. The floor delicately tessellates in a dot bordered star motif with fluid art nouveau touches and the complementary large border tiles are framed by a smaller half size border. The tiles have been cleaned of their original lime based mortar and are ready to relay, polish and re-wax. The border series is completely in tact and in fact has a triple lay (one large framed by two small - I missed one run for the photographs, sorry!)

French antique floor dated crica 1906 with a triple border. The floor tiles are 16cm sq and tessellate in a classically pure form with an anchored mid blue and white jewel motif framed by charcoal coloured lines on a mid grey tile background. The same size borders are more ornate in a linked chain design and again offering mid blue, black and greys. The smaller border in duplicate borrows from a classical Roman geometric form in mustard, charcoal and white. The floor totals 17.5m2+. There are 4 large corner tiles and 7 small corner tiles, so one is missing but can be cut.

 FOR SALE : 17M2+ ANTIQUE FLOOR WITH DOUBLE BORDERS C.1900
Complete French antique 'carreaux de ciments' French floor dating c.1900, totalling c.17m2+ (180sq ft). The main field tiles are 20cm sq (c.8 inches) as are the principal border tile, with a secondary border 20cm x 10cm. The tiles are 2cm thick and weigh c.1.5kilos each.
The floor was removed from a turn of the century épicerie (delicatessen) in a village in the Cote d'Or, Burgundy. There are sufficient border tiles of both series to frame the floor in its entirety with all corner tiles present and correct. The floor has been meticulously cleaned of old mortar to the reverse and sides over several weeks and the faces have been cleaned with a tile restoring alkaline. The floor is ready to re-pose and will just need sealing and waxing on completion. Single tile photos are available should you wish to see more.
