FOR SALE : 2000 M2 MUHUHU PARQUET FLOORING 1950'S
Due to closure of a biscuit factory, a large area of this rare East African hardwood parquet flooring is available for reclamation. Laid in the 1950's in factory corridors, canteen and biscuit packing areas. Needs to be removed from the site by the end of December, work can begin at end of November.
Wood properties:
The basic tone is a deep brown. The structure of this kind of timber looks fine with very close grains. Muhuhu is considered to be one the hardest timbers. It is about 80% harder than Oak.
-High resistance to wear
-Very heavy with high density
Pieces are 9" x 2.75" and 3/4" thick. Samples have been raised and come up easily with small amount of bitumen on the back
Takes brilliant polish. Exceptionally resistant to decay. High resistance to abrasion and indentation.

300yd Fantastic quality burmese teak hardwood t&g parquet flooring. 230x70x22mm, best size for herringbone pattern. Have small coat of bitumen on back, so need to lay with bitumen or other solvent based adhesive, but all fit together perfectly. Fabulous warm mid-dark brown colour and patina. Photo shows lightly sanded blocks - final colour will be darker but will depend on whether you use wax or pu varnish etc. Boxed in 1.8yd containers, can deliver mainland uk from here in central scotland by the pallet.
