Cox's Architectural Salvage Yard (CASY) started trading in 1992 in Stratford upon Avon moving to the present site in Moreton in Marsh over the winter of 1994/95. The business has 12,500sq.ft. of covered warehouse and workshops with a half-acre of outside yard.
Moreton in Marsh is situated in the North Cotswolds, not far from Stow on the Wold and Broadway, all three towns being centres for the antiques trade. Just 90 minutes from London by car, or less by train from Paddington, London, we even boast our own direct access from the yard to the station.
For overseas visitors we can arrange export packing and shipping to all areas.
BEAMS AND FLOORBOARDS
CASY always has a large stock of reclaimed Oak beams in short and long lengths and dimensions from 6ins x 6ins to 12ins x 12ins and bigger. Price tends to be around £28.50 per cu.ft. Occasionally we have elm and pitch pine.
Floor boards have been a staple product for us since we started and we always but always have pine in stock. For example, at the moment (May 2002) we have original 51/2ins tongue and groove reclaimed boards with a nice patina, as well as 8ins resawn Victorian joists with one planed surface. All denailed and neatly packed.
Resawn Victorian joists make lovely floorboards. The colour is normally a rich light brown which takes stain and polish easily. Supplied square-edged with one planed surface and free of nails, it is easy to lay, being a uniform thickness and requiring just a light sanding when down. There is very little wastage as any splits or damaged edges have been removed.
FIREPLACES
Fireplaces have become a speciality of Cox's and their restoration of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian cast iron inserts, surrounds and hobgrates is renowned. There is always a minimum stock of 100 fires to choose from. Cox's only sell originals.
Surrounds in stone, marble oak, pine and slate complement the cast iron inserts. Dog grates and firebacks, kitchen ranges and fire cranes all add to the collection. Our prices are realistic and all restorations are carried out by Cox's own house specialist.

CASY has a much wider range of stock than is illustrated. Try us for Stone, Cast Iron or Timber windows in gothic, round or arched styles. Quarry tiles, flagstones, granite slabs and blue paving bricks. Pews, pew backs, pulpits, bars and bar backs. Staircases, handrails, spindles, balustrades and railings. Staddle stones, urns, vases, granite kerbs and setts. Statues, fountains, lamp posts and copper top lamps. Terracotta moulded pieces and chimney pots. The list is endless.
