 FOR SALE : DISMANTLED BARN This is he sister barn to the one in the photograph. The two barns were originally partitioned in the middle. I have errected the 4 bay and the 5 bay is for sale.  FOR SALE : ENGLISH ELM CART SHED A genuine English ELM 4 bay cart shed has been dismantled very carefully and marked ready to be assembled again. This building is a testament to carpenters of times gone by with joints long fogotten about made to perfection still as solid as when they were first made in 1831, although some of the timbers could be older.  FOR SALE : C. 1850 35' X 55' HAND-HEWN WHITE PINE TIMBER BARN This inspiring timber frame threshing barn measuring 35' x 55' was originally built c.1850 near Toronto, Ontario and was constructed entirely from old growth White pine timbers. All large timbers are "hand-hewn" and exhibit a beautiful aged patina. A large graceful "swing beam" spans the width of the structure and is a truly unique feature of this early barn. The top plates supporting the foot of the rafters are single timbers incredibily stretching the entire 55' length of the building. Smaller timbers and diagonal knee braces exhibit vertical saw marks and would have been milled at a local water powered sawmill. All joinery is traditional mortise and tenon. Square nails secured the rafters, roof and siding boards.
The entire frame was professionally documented and photographed prior to disassembly. All timbers have been catalogued for identification using stamped metal tags. This structure is ideal for conversion to commercial or residential space. Accurately dimensioned drawings and professional structural engineers stamp are available. It was erected in 1867 to replace a smaller mill dating back to 1767. In its long existence the building has had many uses, such as; flour mill, grist mill, saw mill, and finally a cider mill.
The magnificent 3-story structure was constructed entirely from white oak timbers. The chamfered edges and the mortise-and-tenon work are evidence of the master craftsmenship of that period. The mill rests upon a locally-cut stone foundation measuring 43'x32'.
The mill is available for purchase as is or it can be disassembled, numbered, and shipped to your location. We can also provide a crew to reconstruct it on your site.
