About Vanessa Webb

A fully qualified and experienced interior designer, Vanessa's main expertise lies in specialist paint effects and innovative and sympathetic use of colour. Her work suits period and contemporary living.

Using paint effects which include colourwashing, pearlescent and metallic washes, gilding and verre eglomise, sponging, rag rolling, stippling, stencilling, faux wood and marble also many stunning decorative paint effects for woodwork, plasterwork, hand painted furniture and hand painted kitchens.

Previous commissions include decorative paint effects projects in shops, restaurants, hotels, period properties, domestic interiors and even the odd church!  Vanessa was involved with various decorative projects at the Catholic church of St Mary on the Quay, in the centre of Bristol.  This included designing and stencilling the 35 foot altar wall, renovating the painted altars and decorating the function room.  One member of the congregation said "Thank you for making our church the prettiest in Bristol".

During the 1990's she project managed the interior design and specialist decoration at Uphill Manor in Somerset, where she restored Crace stencilling from the 1860's.

Travelling abroad regularly to research mosaic design, fresco and historical interior decoration and paint effects, Vanessa has demonstrated her skills on television, including The Alan Titchmarsh Show. She successfully completed a Certificate in History of Art and Architecture at Bristol University to complement her work.

Working with experienced colleagues and trades people, handmade furniture and soft furnishings can also be supplied, or if you wish to keep your existing fabrics, Vanessa is able to work with these as well.

Vanessa’s work is not confined to Great Britain; she has also worked in properties in France and Italy and is willing to take on commissions for specialist paint effects outside the UK.
