A large Derbyshire gritstone double door surround sympathetically salvaged from an early 1900s school.
The surround is sectional made up of 4 sectional uprights on both sides before meeting a large almost deco style 3 tiered stone lintel.
The stone work is very heavy set with a 20" recess into the building, the actual opening is 7ft tall and 5ft wide.
As you would expect the surround has some signs of wear due to its constant usage,
this none the less would look the part in any substantial period property, and would be a shame to break up to use for other purposes

Built circa 1760,local mountain stone, 24' x 60', end wall was frame and plaster which collapsed and was removed. There was a very large stone fireplace which was on the main floor. This was undermined by spring water flowing through the basement, and it collapsed internally, taking floors down with it. All of that stone, and most of the brick chimney are still there in the basement area. The metal roof is more recent; not original. The old windows are mostly intact, but weathered. Some glass is missing. Any buyer must tear down and remove any materials from the house. Anything that is not wanted by the buyer may be left in the hole where the basement is now. The walls are 18" thick, solid stone, including the basement walls. All stone is valuable building material. We will consider any offer of $5,000.00 or more. If we get multiple offers, we will negotiate with all interested parties, and will sell to the highest offer. I would like the building removed before winter sets in, but that is not imperative.  FOR SALE : PILKINGTON VOYSEY ART NOUVEAU WALL TILE PANELS
Absolutely stunning large panels of original vintage press-moulded majolica Pilkington tiles dating to around 1905 with a high Art Nouveau design attributed to C.F.A.Voysey. There are 5 complete panels altogether and 4 incomplete ones. Each complete panel measures 19.25" high by 12.25" wide overall and consists of 13 separate tiles all marked 'P' on the rear and all original to this scheme which once formed a complete tiled wall in a public building in the West Yorkshire area. The main high Art Nouveau floral motif spans two 6"x6" tiles and an unusually sized 9"x6" tile. Each panel is completed by six 3"x3" mint green tiles with a raised stylized floral motif and a contrasting top moulding and base of curved peacock-blue moulded dado edging tiles. All tiles in the complete panels are in wonderful original condition with no cracks, blemishes or restoration and just the odd vintage chip to the tile edge here and there. The rears are quite clean considering their age; they have a little cement adhering and here and there some shallow chips out of the plain white back where the tiles were removed from a wall. The complete perfect panels are offered at £225 each. The three panels shown in the last photograph are numbers 6,3 and 5. The incomplete ones - which consist of the whole main 3-tile floral motif (available with or without the top and bottom peacock blue moulding tiles), lack only the 3"x3" raised mint infill tiles. These incomplete panels vary in price according to the condition of the tiles and start at £75. Please ask if you would like to see individual photographs of each of the 9 panels and I will gladly email them to you. This item is easily postable. It can also be brought to forthcoming antiques fairs at Swinderby or Newark, or collected from us in Boston. I also have newly available a matching border/dado row of egg & dart design moulded teal blue tiles which would compliment these perfectly.
