Reclaimed from The West Lodge in Marlow Bucks
The gate posts are dated AD 1887 - AD is on the left and 1887 is on the right hand post
The cast iron cherubs have faces from both sides of the gates - the gates look excellent from either side
The bottom hinges are included - these are just concreted into the ground - alternatively the bottom of the gates will fit straight into your electric opener
The overall width is 12ft 6" wide (381cm)
The gates are 94" tall (just under 8ft) (234cm)
The opening when the gates are opened is 115½" (293cm)
The posts are 12" square at the base
The maker of the posts is W E James Daventry
The main photograph is taken from a platform above the gates with the gates flat on the ground
The posts will sit 27" into the ground

 FOR SALE : AN OLD AND USED BOILER An old used boiler showing a makers name of HOLCROFT on the top near the hinged lid at the back of this piece - and more wording is visible at the front to the main belly. It is cast iron with a steel top - obviously very used - and it comes with assorted bits and pieces that can be seen in the picture.
